Dancing to the Beat of the Music
Music is a fine, auditory, and performing art with the following elements: rhythm, texture, dynamics, pitch and timbre. Music differs from culture to culture and according to social context. It is categorized to genres and subgenres. It is very significant in several cultures because it is used in their way of living.
Music composition is the making of music. It is recorded so that other people are able to interpret it. Depending on the era and location, the performance practice or the selections and techniques vary.
A lot of people are endowed with the talent to compose music and write lyrics. The creating of the lyrics depends on mood of the writer and the theme. There is a big difference between the lyrics before and now. Before, the lyrics play a vital role to the totality of the song.
The dance trends of the oldies (1950-1960) were rock and roll, spearheaded by the famous Elvis Presley. If you think that dance crazes only occur today, you’re wrong. Before, there were also dance crazes like The Twist in 1960s. The difference with the dance crazes of yesterday and today is that, although both are danceable, the lyrics in the 20th century are more sensible compared to the 21st century lyrics. But then, it won’t matter anymore, the important thing is, we can dance to the beat of the music, whatever the era of music it may come from.
